Three SC Students Steal School Buses, Arrested for South Carolina Criminal Charges
Three male high school students in Laurens, SC were arrested after driving two school buses around a parking lot. All students lacked licenses and at least one was 14-years-old. Because they’re juvenile offenders, their names are being held from the press.
The buses were available because the school gates had been left unlocked and the buses had been left waiting to transport students. The keys to the buses were hidden, and the students apparently found them. The bus drivers failed to follow the school district’s policy of returning the keys at the end of each shift and will be disciplined.
The joyride lasted for about two hours, and the buses were returned scratched. These juveniles were caught on camera.
The students have been charged with the theft of a motor vehicle, but will be charged as minors (because this is their first offense). The school district will also take disciplinary action against the group. Luckily no one was hurt.
